Many children in poverty leave school without a basic education – if they’re able to attend at all. Globally, 260 million children aren’t even in school.
When children and youth fall behind, usually due to illness or family problems, the resources to catch up don’t exist. Overcrowded classrooms and uneducated parents can make it nearly impossible for children to get the foundational knowledge they need to keep growing and thriving. This makes getting a stable job or planning for the future seem hopeless.
